James Humphrey is quoted in an article in the Hull publication, 'Flashback' relating to the Trawlermen's strike in 1970. (Saturday 29 January, 2000, Issue 78, page 8). This is accessible on microfilm at the History Centre.

The centre holds a number of collections relating to the fishing industry in Hull during this period. These include, for example, the Registers of Hull Ships 1804-1994, (C DPC) and the records of two local fishing companies, Thomas Hamling & Co, 1894-1982 (C DBTH) and Hellyer Brothers 1937-1970 (C DBHB). In addition there are various books and publications concerning the industry such as the 'Trawling Times', the newspaper for the industry, 1968-1979,'Trawling' by Robb Robinson, 'Turning the Tide' by Rupert Creed and 'What Price Cod' by Norman Storey (all at L.639.22).
