Admin History:

Compiled by an unidentified pupil midwife as part of their training. The training of midwives had been first introduced in 1902 after which it became illegal for any person unqualified to as act as a midwife. It also established the Central Midwives Board. The legislation was enforced by the local authority, the Hull Municipal Corporation, until responsibility was passed to the National Health Sevice on its establishment in 1946.
