Records relating to midwifery in Hull before the creation of the National Health Service can be found in the minutes of the City Council's Maternity and Child Welfare Committee and the Sanitary and Health Committees. At C DIIS/1 is a register of cases for Hedon Road Hospital (1949-1951) but this is also closed under the Data Protection Act. The Heritage Collection of the Royal College of Midwives at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) is accessible to researchers.
