A wide range of material relating to Hull's sporting history together with sportsmen and women is held in the City Archives and Local Studies Library collections. These include published books on rugby and football, particularly Hull FC, Hull Kingston Rovers, and Hull City AFC.

Sporting programmes for Hull's professional, semi-professional, and amateur clubs can be found among the Local Studies collections. At C DBHM/11 are Hull Daily Mail press cuttings relating to sport records (1865-1977). These include Annual Reports for Hull FC, Hull Kingston Rovers, and Hull City AFC; Match Reports together with other material related to Hull FC, Hull Kingston Rovers, and Hull City AFC. Also included are Year Books for Hull & East Riding R.U.F.C (1965-1969).

The Hull Daily Mail, including the Sportsmail publication is available at the Hull History Centre. These are held on microfilm in library area. The Hull Daily Mail is also free to view via the British Newspaper Archive at the History Centre using the public PC's. All you need is a Hull Libraries card. You can sign up for a Libraries card for free at any of Hull Libraries, including the History Centre.
