A register of ships recorded entering and leaving Alexandra Dock, Hull. It provides the following information in respect of each ship: date and time of arrival/departure, name of vessel, whether powered by steam/sail/motor, nationality/port of registry/master's name, registered tonnage, where from, cargo (inwards and outwards), draft on arrival/departure, and the destination. The volume also records details of water levels in the Dock, and the height of water on sill. It also includes weather observations, including wind direction/force, thermometer, and barometer readings.
