File contains correspondence between Tony Hickson as Chairman of Hull Philharmonic Society and various artists that have worked and performed with the Hull Philharmonic Society since its founding. Subject matter relates to the sending of messages of congratulations by the artists in question for inclusion in the Society's 1981 'Centenary Brochure'. Note that many of the letters sent by artists were originally accompanied by photographs which were then separated from the letters [by Hickson?], these may appear in C DSPH/4/1.
