Reference to feeling 'a bit low', falling asleep in chair, visit to Beverley to look for presents, upcoming day trip to London, parody of Whitsun Weddings by Gavin Ewart 'The Larkin Automatic Carwash', feeling 'very depressed' about poetry, Chapple lending him a novel 'Miss Marjoribanks' which he supposes Jones gives seminars on (includes a doodle of a rabbit with the word 'Techer' next to this point), letter from John Wain who has been in a bicycle accident, six letters awaiting his reply, must phone his sister, has new dressing gown, has just spoken to Jones.
